Minnesota Fly Fishing Reports

Minnesota fly fishing reports for all types of fly fishing in Minnesota. Please provide some helpful information about your trip to the waters so others might enjoy the same fly fishing outings. Do not provide exact detail information on specific spots about the waters you fished. The best reports are the ones that let others learn from your experiences.  Please use the Minnesota Fly Fishing Forums to post fly fishing questions. That way we can have fly fishing reports only here.  Minnesota Fly Fishing Reports has moved to a new forum. Minnesota Fly Fishing.

North Shore Fishing Report  (United States)

I'm sick of looking on here and hoping somebody put up a report.  I'm also sick of being just as much a part of the problem.  Today I drove between Two Harbors and Duluth and checked out the regular spots.  None of the rivers are completely open but I would say the Lestor seems to be the closest to being open.  I saw a lot of people fishing and everybody I talked to hadn't caught a fish but had heard of somebody catching em.  I fished the Lestor river and was alone for the first hour or so but didn't have any action.  It wasn't long and there were about 6 or 8 people fishing.  I hung around for another hour and hadn't seen anybody so much as get a bite.  I tried a couple of different flys and most everybody else was either using that fake spawn stuff and worms.  Needs to warm up a bit and the rivers need to open up a bit.  It's gonna warm up a bit this next week and I think that is going to help quite a bit.

Re: North Shore Fishing Report  (United States)

Well it's a start!

I was planning a 2 day trip to the Brule (WI) and the lack of info kept me close to the Twin Cities.  Maybe in two weeks I'll get up to the Brule or Knife.

Thanks for the info
