I've been fishing the Root River with my wife for a couple of years.  We usually pitch a tent in Forestville State Park for a few nights, then move to a Lanesboro B&B for a couple of nights.

But I don't always want to sleep on the ground, and the charm of a B&B at $100+/night wore off long ago. There must be an inexpensive motel somewhere in the area. Clean, safe, a decent bed and $60 to $70 per night.

Any ideas?

Red Barn, (I think), or Old Barn?  between Preston and Lanesboro, right on the root.

Old Barn Resort in Preston( right on the root), trail head inn in preston, Country Trails inn in preston,Val-A-lodge in Chatfield,  Country lodge in Harmony. Plenty of campgrounds. Heck for some help with my casting I'd put up my pop-up camper in the back yard for ya! Im less than 20 minutes to lanesboro, with trout streams between here and there.
