Southshore streams are open!
 (United States)

Well the stream flowing into Lake Superior opened up this weekend.  We camped over the weekend.  Saturday there were light rains in the morning and then tapered off.  The water temps were 50 deg and the air about 55-60.  No visible hatches, but we ended up with very nice browns and brook trout tossing black BH wooly buggers.  Fishing wooly buggers is a lot of fun.

Sunday was breezy with the sun popping out every now and then.  We did see a minor Hendrickson hatch and my buddy landed a very nice looking resident bow on a dry.  I kept using the wooly bugger and caught some nice sized browns and at least one brookie over 10".  Most of the brook trout were around the 8" mark.  The rivers are in great shape and it looks like the fishing is going to be good this year in Northern Wisconsin.

Tight lines!
