Musky Country  (United States)

Recently I have been very fortunate to acquire a job with Musky Country Outfitters in Hayward, Wisconsin. Musky Country is nestled just 20 miles East of Hayward at Boulder Lodge. The area is crawling with waters containing our favorite and speciality fish, the Musky. This is the real deal, no guff, just real people doing what they love. Along with Muskys to be targeted, the waters also contain Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleyes, and lets not forget the endless Trout fishing opportunities. Especially on the Namekagon River which contains all FIVE species. Every float trip or walk and wade trip is filled with an abundance of wildlife such as Whitetail Deer, Eagles, Hawks, various birds species, and rare but possible chance of a Black Bear sighting. Also, just down the road from Boulder Lodge in the evenings and mornings Elk can be spotted right off the county road in the ditches feeding on the wild grasses. In Northern Wisconsin the recreation that is available is endless, there are tons of hiking trails, camping or maybe its just kicking back and relaxing by Ghost Lake right in Boulder Lodge's backdoor. The best way to describe the town of Hayward is like the rocky mountain town from out West that ended up in the Midwest but with the North Country appeal. Hayward has very much to offer such as some great restaurants and a wide variety of shops. If an angler and angling compadres don't want to stray too far from Boulder Lodge, just up the road is the Spider Lake Cafe. The cafe offers some great whole hardy breakfasts and North woods hospitality that will please any angler. If your someone that would like to step up there fly fishing to a new level by learning the tackle, the rods, the flies, and how to target the illusive Musky and the other variety of fish readily available; Along with experiencing the Northern Wisconsin culture, endless woods, water and hospitality; Musky Country Outfitters is for you. So, if your interested in booking a trip or would like to know some more information about Musky Country Outfitters shoot me an email at onthefly22@gmail.com.

Hope to see you in Musky Country soon.
