Dark Hendricksons and Baetis
 (United States)
Even though southeast Mn has been buffeted by rain and run off in the past week, there are still LOTS of streams that are fishable, and many more that are clearing quickly.  The Rott is a bit out of hand, but that should be expected since it is one of the main drainage areas to southeast MN.

I decided to forego the Expo this weekend and was rewarded with a fantastic day on Saturday.  midges were going streamside by 9:30 followed by some baetis at 11:00 or so.  That went strong until Dark Hendricksons started appearing from 1:00-2:30 when the hatch petered out a bit.  It was nice to see fish on top indiscriminately taking bugs, especially large, sizable dry flies.

This hatch is sometimes a bit tough to find, but watch your stream thermometer this time of year (50 degrees at least for the DH hatch) and be on the water after 1:30, and you have a good chance of running into it.
