Whitewater opening day  (United States)

We just moved to this state from Pa.    My son and I went to Whitewater today for opening day, this trip was to explore as much fishing seeing we're new to the state.   We started at Carley State Park North Branch of Whitewater. We had the place all to ourselves and pulled in two nice ones.  After, we moved down to Whitewater State Park.  We did a lot of moving around exploring  and talking and in the end caught three more.  Orange egg fly pattern was the key.  Everyone was cacthing and gave a lot of helpful information.

Re: Whitewater opening day  (United States)

Thanks for the report. It sounds like a good day even though it was cold and windy. Rainbows? Browns? I couldn't get there but I wish I would have, it's a great area. Enjoy.

Re: Whitewater opening day  (United States)

Went to that river a couple weeks ago. Stocking truck had been 2 days before. Guess they put several 12 - 14 rainbows in so the kids could catch fish.Rainbows were easy and dumb and probably all fished out by now. Lots of bait fishing going on with everyone catching fat hatchery rainbows. We ended up going to some other streams in the area and doing well with nymphs for wild browns.
