Minnesota Fly Fishing Reports

Minnesota fly fishing reports for all types of fly fishing in Minnesota. Please provide some helpful information about your trip to the waters so others might enjoy the same fly fishing outings. Do not provide exact detail information on specific spots about the waters you fished. The best reports are the ones that let others learn from your experiences.  Please use the Minnesota Fly Fishing Forums to post fly fishing questions. That way we can have fly fishing reports only here.  Minnesota Fly Fishing Reports has moved to a new forum. Minnesota Fly Fishing.

Straight Lake and Straight River  (United States)
Does anyone have experience with trout fishing on Straight River and Straight Lake? Any recommendations about best areas on the river? Thanks.

I suppose I should be more specific . . . I mean the river and lake in Osage County between Park Rapids and Detroit Lakes.

Re: Straight Lake and Straight River  (United States)
To get to the best section of the river take a left on CR 123 (This is if your coming from park rapids). Then work your way downstream. You'll be able to tell if your in the right spot because it's by far the rockiest portion of the river (I'm pretty sure it's 123 but not sure). There are a series of county roads all of wich intersect the main road going from park rapids to osage, most of them are good starting points to explore the river. Good luck
