I was up at Fish Lake north of Duluth a couple of days ago and the water temps in the back bays were in the upper 50's. The sunfish and bluegills are up feeding and staging for the spawn. They were all in small schools, usually concentrated in small area within small back water bays. I would have used my fly rod if the wind wasn't so bad. This is a good time to break out the fly rod and try for some pannies. Its easy to teach new fly fishers to the sport when chasing sunfish and they are a blast to catch.
Most of the lakes should be doing about the same in this area and Fish Lake has a good population of panfish and crappies. So getout your fly line and chase some sunfish, olus they are good eating.
