I don't do the fall steelhead / salmon runs on the local rivers anymore, I've been chasing the fall bass bite and it has been very good this year throughout October, even was able to get my first ever November largemouth! Fly fishing for them is a bit tougher, so it helps to have a good idea of where the fish will be concentrated more and what type of cover they will be in on a given body of water. The key spots are usually the warmest water with good structure (thicker weeds, lilies, etc).
Here are few pics from this years fall bass bite. Broke out the fly rod about half the time, the other on baitcasting gear. With the chilly air and cold water, your fingers start to get a little numb faster because you dealing with the wet fly line more.
