Something about smallies on the fly!
(N/A) Modified By TheFlyMaster on 6/13/2007 1:20:38 AM)

There is something about smallies and fly fishing that go hand in hand.......

I hope everyone's summer fly fishing is going great!

Nice smallie!!! They are alot of fun!!! Do you fish for salmon? I have never done it. I would love any info of where, how and when. Seems some of the rivers up your way can be difficult(Baptism,Sucker,etc.). I am about 4 or 5 hours from the Brule and that area or 4 hours from Milwaukee and Sheboygen area.
Any info would be great.

Thanks!!!!

P.S.
I love spey casting and this might help justify it.

In my opinion the salmon fishing along the north shore is really not worth persueing.  It's all about the steelhead and loopers now.  I do remmeber back in the early 90's when the kings were still coming into the streams in the good numbers and that was a blast.  I don't fish the north shore anymore.  I stick with the Brule during the spring and fall migrations.

Lake Michigan tribs in Wisconsin are some of the best salmon and rainbow streams anywhere.  I got trips planned for this fall and next spring to try it.  I would definetaly try to get out to Lake Michigan.
