Are you ready? Great Lakes Fly Company is offering two casting clinics, June 7 and June 14, 900a-200p. Learn the mechanics and techniques of fly casting by Marlene Huston, instructed by the legendary fly caster, fly fishing woman and teacher Joan Wulff out of the Catskill of upstate New York. Then enjoy fly tying a Pheasant Tail by John Fehnel, owner of Great Lake Fly Company and professional fly-tyer.
From fly rod, fly line, reel selection to casting fundamentals. This class will instruct you on gearing up for the sport, handling a fly rod, stance, forward cast (roll cast), back cast, laying out the cast out straight, picking up the fly line, proper motion, thumbs up, follow your rod, and where does your line hand go? Along with stream techniques, casting tips and practice routines you can use to perfect your cast!
