  Does anyone have a reccommedation for a small, light fishing canoe?  I'm selling my bulky one man pontoon and am looking for a smaller easier to handle rig.

Hi,  I believe Bell has a fishing specific canoe called the Angler that has seatbacks and rodholders and other dodads.  I know that Wenonah has fishing canoes as well but they don't come with the extras.  I currently fish out of an Old Town Guide model but wouldn't recommend it since it is heavy and a two seater.  My next canoe will probably be a Wenonah Solo Plus.  It's a medium size boat but it has three seats and is designed for primarily solo use but can be used as a tandem when you have a partner.  Paddling a true tandem by yourself really sucks, especially if you're on a lake that isn't shielded from the wind.  I haven't demoed it but there were several customer testemonials on Wenonah's brochure from people that bought the Solo Plus specificly for fishing and were very happy with their decision.  Hope this helps.

Great topic!!! I have a Wenonah Solo plus- kevlar -16 and half feet long. I love it, but look up a Native Ultimate 12. I also have one of these. It is the most comfortable watercraft to sit in out there. It is stable enough to easily stand up and double haul also. A very popular item for flyfishers.  I guess this also depends on your budget. The Ultimate is cheaper, depending on the material you want.

I was actually looking at the Native Ultimate 12 over the weekend.  It will be a perfect weapon for what I was looking at doing.  Thanks guys.
