New to area, going fishing in a week, any advice?
 (N/A)

Hello everyone.  I'm a full time grad student and haven't had time to do any fishing since moving here.  I live in Saint Paul.  Any help I could get would be much appreciated, as it will be that much less reading I'll have to do so that I'm prepared.

I'm wondering where the closest trout streams are, that are worth going to.  I'm willing to drive further, if it makes a big difference.

Any advice on time of day and choice of flies would be much appreciated!

Spring Brook maybe?  Anyone know the spot?  Know where to park, or any other advice?

Found another, closer.  The section of the Vermillion river, west of 3, so that I can keep what I catch.

Parking?  Anything?

Try the creeks by Redwing like Hay. Or further south try Whitewater, or the Root river/creek systems. Or head over to Wisc. That's probably the closest to you, the Kinnie. and others close to the border are all full of trout.

Good luck.

I just moved in as well from the East coast, and was wondering if you found any good locations close to the Twin Cities. Thanks for any input!

joining the twin cities chapter of trout unlimited is a good first step. getting your hands dirty on stream improvement projects not only lets you ,meet others, but you learn a bunch of new access points too. just sayin'...
