COLD WEATHER THIS WEEK!

Fished Crooked Creek this past week.  The temps were in the high 20's and low 30's with a steady breeze from the north at 20 miles and hour.  I am not going to lie to you......it was COLD!, COLD!, COLD!  The 20-30 mile an hour winds really froze the guides quickly and casting was just a joy.  I would have waited until this cold weather had passed, but I had the week off from work so my buddy and I decided to stay with the plan.  I just love Minnesota in April!  LOL!
 
 
We fished from April 3rd - April 7th and the streams were crystal clear.  The fish were biting on hare's ear nymphs and pink squirrels in the morning with long leaders and there was some very spotty action in selected areas with BWO where the fish were rising in the afternoon.  The fish looked as cold as were were and had no desire to rise to a dry fly.  It was fun despite the weather and nice to get out on the streams again.
