One thing about a Clouser is that it's more of a style then a pattern now. Clouser's are not only easy to tie, but also can be tied with just about any material and colors, but the basic style remains the same: Dumbell eyes, bottom material, top material. Adding flashy materials like flashabou in between the bottom and top materials gives clouser another look. Any of which can be in a thousand different colors out there, even the dumbell's come in a lot of colors.
I'm partial to using Gamakatsu hooks, super sharp and very strong. I use G's B10S stinger hook in size 2 and 6. I only tie about 5-6 color variations. Chart over white (good all around color), Chart over Yellow, White over White, Black over Black, Red over White, Tan/Brown over white. I also use red dumbell eyes with black dots in the middle. Of course I'm always experiementing with different color variations which I only tie a few of and those go in my test fly box
I'm in the process of make a short video clip on tying a clouser for mnflyfishing.com and should be done shortly. If you do a search for "tying a clouser minnow" in google you should find some sites that have some pics.
Here are the ones I tie:
