Does anyone know if there is any decent trout streams around the Redwood Falls - Marshall area in southwest minnesota???
That's a good question. I've never heard of any trout streams out that way. I'm not saying there are no trout streams, but someone is good at keeping some secrets if there are.
I would call the Minnesota DNR and talk to someone in the trout fisheries section. Maybe sometime in the past, the DNR might have managed some trout streams out that way. There are trout streams all over Minnesota that aren't really listed in the DNR trout streams lists (mainly SE Minnesota and the North Shore). But there are actually many more trout streams around the state that aren't in the DNR publications. Many streams at sometime were managed for trout or were known for holding trout and are never talked about openly nowadays. Take the Straight River in central MN. Now a days it's referred to the river that USED to hold good populations of good sized browns. But I bet there are folks who fish this and will tell you otherwise, but thats for you to figure out.
Thats my half cents worth.
