Don't know how many of you fish for larger fish like big smallmouth and largemouth, northern pike and musky, but check out this tape to protect your finger from line burns. I've been using it this year for the first time and it works great. I always used to get than line burn from setting the hook or even fighting a large fish on my index finger. Especially when setting the hook, when you use your finger to apply pressure to the line against the cork grip of your fly rod. You need a lot of pressure so the line doesn't slip when setting the hook. When you have a lot of weight to a fish, a lot of times the lines slips between your finger and the cork, causing a burning feeling. Try using some of this tape, it actually works.
I didn't think I would use anything on my finger while im fly fishing, but I'm starting to use it more often now, especially when targeting musky and pike.
