I hit the bridge in El Paso on Friday. Beautiful day.
It was a beautiful day and I was enjoying being out for the first time of the season so I gave up on catching fish and started tp practice casting. I got out my biggest dry (grasshopper with a bright red parachute) and just started throwing.
Caught a 15 in. brown.
The fishing gods smiled on me.
Fished the Rush today after a short morning at work. got on the water around 11:30 fished a stretch north of el paso and didnt like stream structure after about a 1.5 mile walk. Second spot seemed to be alot nicer with nice runs, pools, and riffles. I threw on the usual search pattern (elk hair caddis) and has a look on the first cast, 2 cast after that, the "looker" was being unhooked.....14" fatty Brown with some shoulders. Second hole led to a bunch of looks and one rise that almost made me wet in my waders.
In the end it was just the one brown, but for fishing the "Rush" for the first time, I would say a successful outing.
Never saw another fisherman from El Paso South.
