Namekagon River
 (United States)

Has anyone been on the Namekagon river for the early catch and release season.  I was there last year in the 1st of april on a nice warm spring day.  Just wondering if anyone has been there this year.  I'm thinking about heading down there next week for a few hours to get out and wet a line.

Thanks.

Re: Namekagon River
 (N/A)
Well I made it out there for a few hours and it was very nice day weather wise.  I didn't see another person out on the water and the three spots I checked.

I caught a couple browns around the 18" mark.  A few more about 14-15 and a couple other smaller ones.  I got there around 1:00 and saw a few caddis flying around and some other bugs flying near the surface.  But did not see alot of rising fish.  I tried fishing with nymphs but didn't get a bite.  Switched over to a size10 Adams wulff dry fly and got all the fish on that.

Most of the bigger fish came out of wood structure in a a little bit deeper water in the main flow.  Had to the get the fly up tight against the wood and had to make a few cast to the same spot b4 they would bite.  All in all a good day to get out on the water.

Tight lines.
