Luckily, my work took me to MSP for the second year in a row so I was able to get in my only flyfishing adventure of the year. I did the drive down US52 to to the Chatfield area to fish the Root River Drainage for the day. Mucho success on various nymphs. Not much happening on top although there was a slight hatch going on in the late evening. Last year when I was here I came away with the skunk.....20min in I got rid of that monkey. I landed 23/24 fish on the day...mostly browns, chubs and a few rainbows. Biggest fish of the day was a fat 14"rainbow. Late in the day I switched to a foam black beetle #16 and landed a few browns on top. A great trip for sure. Wish we had something like this in Texas.
