Just got back from an extended weekend in Caledonia, MN. The fishing was fantastic! Winnebego creek and Money Creek are running clear and there is a great hatch of BWO's coming off in the evening.....hoppers also worked well. Daytime though was all about the nymphs.
Bever Creek is very muddy and there have been some changes due to the floods......lots of silt. We chose not to fish there because of this, but there were others down along the stream. As we walked the streams we did pick up a bunch of garbage (possibly due to the floods) just to keep the area clean and the streams healthy.
Bring your fishing license! The DNR for whatever reason (maybe because of bow season) are out in force so we were checked.
I would guess the stepped up enforcement is a combination of bow and small game seasons opening, plus trout is no kill with barbless hooks until the end of the year. I'm hoping they're out enforcing the no-kill rule.
Glad you had a good weekend. Fishing's been pretty solid since late August. The floods didn't wreck as much as I think people maybe believe. You just have to know where to go.

Hello all - my first time on the sight - have been lurking but wanted to try to increase the activity on this site.
Had a nice morning (2 hours, 615-830) on trout run creek (south of Chatfield). 2 14 inch browns and one 8-10 incher. Lost at least 2 others. All taken on BH hare's ear variants. Lots of surface activity began around 730A, fish leaping. Got a nice hit and miss on a 16 parachutte adams - but then went back to the nymph for more consistency.
Likely my last outing for the year. Was gorgeous.
Looking forward to Winter season!

Welcome Galardy and thanks for great report! Sounds like you had a fantastic time for your last day this year. I still have one month to sling the rods around or until my line starts freezing to my guides
Tight lines and see ya on the water!
