Hay Creek
(N/A)
New to the website. I went to Hay Creek on Saturday and didn't catch anything. My buddy caught a couple which made it a good trip. We found them schooled up in deep holes, but nothing in fast water. Is that strange? Water seemed low.Caught on nymphs and missed a couple on a hendricks. New to fly fishing too so I am looking for any tips.

it depends on where on the hay you were. lower is better than the upper.
do some hiking below the campgrounds.

Re: Hay Creek

I think we were lower. I have been there a few times and I have caught some nice fish on the upper part of the stream. Unfortunately there were quite a few people on the upper part when we went. I guess that's what you get when you go on a Saturday though.
