I'd like get down the the WhiteWater or Hay Creek area soon. Being from St.Cloud i would be fishing for the weekend and either get a hotel/cabin/campsite.

I went by that larsons cabin on the first weekend of the winter trout season, not a bad looking place.

For winter fly fishing, you can stick with the basic nymph patterns, like pheasant tails, hares ear and you can also try some caddis larvae and midge larvae imitations as well.  You can also break out the midge imitations on top if u see midges flying around.  These will pretty much hook you into some fish.  Tyring using split shot to get the nymphs down to where the fish are, since the water it fairly clear and cold.

Good luck and let us know how you did.
