  I am gonna e-mail you.  I am 23 and a fisherman my whole life.  But brand new too flyfishing.  I have been out twice in SE MN, this last week (see above posts in folder) and am addicted.  But I could use some friendly advice and tips to help me out as well.

Friendly advice:  Long leaders, as fine a tippet as you can get away wtih (consider some fluorocarbon), stick with numphs unless you actually see rising fish (midge hatch), get your flies deep so don't hesitate to use enough lead to get them down.  Stick to basic nymph patterns like scuds, cased caddis, hare's ears, PT's, and the likes.  Keep a low profile and avoid being in the water if at all possible.  Trout are going to typically start deep and move to faster, shallower riffle structures IF the water warms enough for them to do so during a typical winter day.  If you nymph consider an indicator, and make it small and unobtrusive (so if you use the foam stick on indicators, take the color off and keep it white).

Timing and weather are everything in the winter months.
