Well if this means anything, I've driven by there but never fished it
. I was down in the area with my wife a few years back in Laneboro staying at a B&B. But it was so hot and muggy we basically stayed in the air conditioned room and took drives and toured the area. So I didn't get chance to fish this creek. Has anyone been on this stream? I know someone has at one point.

the bug action was so bad even the bats were going hungry! spring valley creek is a tough one. technical fishing indeed. very clear, not quite as cold as one would hope, and not a lot of cover, goes through a lot of pastureland. but i did hook a few feisty brookies. took the kids over to the dnr hatchery on the duschee on dad's day. the dnr had just dumped the last of this years one year old rainbows. the kids each caught a couple and had a blast.that is a great area to take kids. i'll have to post some pics. nothing but nice people in bluff country. -josh

Sounds like a you had a great time with fam, thats what counts. You were really close to Lanesboro and I've stayed there a few times, while I was dating my wife. We had to do the B&B thing there. But each time we went, the rains left the rivers high and dirty, well at least the Root for some canoeing. But otherwise we had a great time down there. And your right about the people being nice and very friendly to everyone.
I envy those that can make it to SE MN in a reasonably amount of time.
