I haven't heard of any runs yet but I can ask around and find out for you. This year is going to be different because we didn't get alot of rain this year up here. We need rain to get those river levels up and to trigger the fish to start moving into the river. I know there have been good reports off shore for trout. This is usually when they start staging around the rivers getting ready for the run. But like I said before it depends on if we get any rain during September and October, those are usually the best months for the North Shore weather wise and for the fishing. But it's all about timing the weather.
I haven't fished the North Shore fall runs for quite a few years now. I have been doing alot of Fall fly fishing for big smallmouth and pike in the St. Louis River. It's alot easier being high and dry throwing from a boat for some topwater fly fishing action and it's a blast. I never did have a chance to try for those pinks though. Thats sounds like a blast because I hear there are alot of them and they are willing to bite. I'll ask around today and find out the outlook for the pinks and if they might be running around the time your up there, I'll try to steal a few hours to get up that way.
